Poetry : I Wish You Were Here, Love
“Love is not only something you feel, it is something you do.” – David Wilkerson
Oh how sweet are the summer’s days,
Oh how delightful in many ways,
With flowers scattered all over the valley
And the birds singing gaily for me.
My dear, me dear, oh how I wish,
For you to share this glorious bliss,
When the sky is so peaceful and blue,
And the sun’s ray shining through.
My love, my sweet, my darling one,
Where are you when it’s you I want.
There is so much I want to share,
And so many words I have to say.
Now the air is filled with sweet scents,
From the flowers which cover this land;
Dear one, return! Oh, please do –
These things remind me very much of you.
Oh how I longed once more to feel,
The love you have for me still,
To hear you whisper in my ear,
The words I so much want to hear.
Oh, you can never guess my feelings,
When I’m in your arms, darling.
And once more we’ll be together,
Never more to part, forever and ever.
