A Fitting Reward

2 Timothy 4:8 KJV
“Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.”

This Bible Verse reminds me of that all-time favorite Hymn “Will There Be Any Stars In My Crown?” It is a great song. You can read the lyric below and watch the video anywhere on Youtube.
The thoughts which never fail to enter my mind when I hear or sing this song are, “Will I  be deserving of any Crown my Lord Jesus gives me? Will I receive a Crown from Him? How can I make certain that I will receive a Crown from Him?”
The Bible Verse and the Song speak for themselves.
Song : Will There Be Any Stars?
“I am thinking today of that beautiful land
I shall reach when the sun goeth down
When through wonderful grace by my Saviour I stand
Will there be any stars in my crown.
Will there be any stars, any stars in my crown
When at evening the sun goeth down
When I wake with the blest in those mansions of rest
Will there be any stars in my crown.
In the strength of the Lord let me labor and pray
Let me watch as a winner of souls
That bright stars may be mine in the glorious day
When his praise like the sea billow rolls.
Will there be any stars, any stars in my crown
When at evening the sun goeth down
When I wake with the blest in those mansions of rest
Will there be any stars in my crown.
Oh, what joy it will be when his face I behold
Living gems at his feet to lay down
It would sweeten my bliss in the city of gold
Should there be any stars in my crown.
Will there be any stars, any stars in my crown
When at evening the sun goeth down
When I wake with the blest in those mansions of rest
Will there be any stars in my crown?”
